LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Mercyhurst men's water polo team finished out the Bucknell Invitational with two losses on Sunday.

The Lakers (7-3) suffered an 11-8 loss to La Salle before falling 16-9 to the United States Naval Academy. Mercyhurst earned one win and endured three losses during the weekend.

Daniel Alvarez scored two goals while Alex Diaz,
Philip Jenny,
Matt Bachler,
Otis Tyson,
Mathieu Davis and
Andrew Howe each recorded one goal.

Ryan Mercando and
Ryan Witoslawski added assists.
Â
Goalie Nash Green made eight saves and contributed two steals for the Lakers.

Ash Lyne tallied four goals, Cole Strohson scored three goals and Karl Miller, Daniel Domotor, Derek DeFusco and Anthony Hidalgo each contributed one goal for La Salle.

In net, Cameron Schiable recorded six saves.

Navy 16, Mercyhurst 9
Alvarez and Bachler put in two goals while single goals were credited to
Alex Cappuccio,
Jonathan Merkley,
Michael Gutman, Diaz and Jenny. Alvarez also contributed one assist while Jenny had an assist and three steals.

Greeven made nine saves and had three steals for Mercyhurst.

Trevor Clark led Navy with four goals. Jesse Hainze, Declan Harrison and Kevin Volkov tallied two goals each and Jake Haines, Crawford Smith, Nate Reiff, Jason Dompke, Andrew Shasin and Kenny McKinlay had one goal apiece.

Max Sanberg stopped six shots in net for Navy.

The Lakers begin Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference action on Sept. 21 at Washington and Jefferson. Â
