Box Score CANTON, Ohio -- The 19th-ranked Mercyhurst men's lacrosse team cruised to a 16-3 win against Walsh in Great Midwest Athletic Conference action on Tuesday.
Devin Pipher scored four goals while leading point-getter
Nathan Grenon totaled three goals and two assists for the Lakers (7-4, 3-2).
Dom Perna added two goals and
Colin Greenway,
Liam Dollard,
Austin Robare,
James Wittmeyer,
Patrick Liddy,
Greg Weyl and
Sam Crusha tallied one goal each.
Greenway also made three assists while Perna and Dollard dished one each.
Defensively,
Greg Weyl led the way with three groundballs and two caused turnovers.
Evan Schumacher and Perna added seven and three GBs, respectively. Schumarcher was 14 of 22 in the faceoff circle.
The Lakers scored the game's first five goals and never looked back. They enjoyed a 10-0 streak later in the contest.
Mercyhurst outshot the Cavaliers, 40-20, and held a 35-25 edge in groundballs and 14-8 advantage in faceoffs.
Frank Savena, Maurice Kelly and Kevin McMahon scored goals for Walsh (1-9, 1-3).
The Lakers will return to action on Tuesday, Apr. 17, with a 4 p.m. non-conference home game against Roberts Wesleyan.
