The Mercyhurst men's ice hockey team is set to host Atlantic Hockey opponent Rochester Institute of Technology on Nov. 2-3 at the Mercyhurst Ice Center. Puck drops at 7:05 p.m. both nights.
 
Weekend Promotions
Friday: YOUTH NIGHT
Erie Youth Hockey will be skating during the first intermission and there will be a student competition on the ice during the second intermission.
 
Saturday: JERSEY NIGHT
Wear a jersey and receive a free raffle ticket that will be entered into a prize drawing. There will also be a student competition on the ice during the second intermission.
 
Last Time Out
Mercyhurst welcomed Army on Oct. 26-27, falling 5-1 on Friday and 3-2 in overtime on Saturday.
 
Ethan Johnson, Dalton Hunter and Matthew Whittaker scored goals while Devon Daniels, Taylor Best, Joseph Duszak, Derek Barach and Josh McDougall tallied assists.
 
Stefano Cantali made a total of 52 saves in net.
 
Previous Matchup
Last season the Lakers and Tigers met four times with the Lakers holding a 3-1-0 advantage. Mercyhurst welcomed RIT in January, winning 6-3 before falling 6-5 in overtime at the MIC in early February. Later on, in Feb. the Lakers swept RIT winning 4-3 both nights.
 
Duszak (3g, 4a), Barach (2g, 4a), Joshua Lammon (2g, 1a), Best (2g, 1a), James Anderson (1g) and Quinn Wichers (1a) had points for Mercyhurst. Colin DeAugustine made 18 saves in net, in a relief effort for the Lakers.
 
Erik Brown (7g), Adam Brubacher (1g, 5a), Abbott Girduckis (3a), Jordan Peacock (1g, 2a), Alden Dupuis (3g), Gabe Valenzuela (1a), Chris McKay (1a), Dan Willett (1a), Bryson Traptow (1a) and Ryan Kruper (1a) recorded points for RIT. Logan Drackett made a total of 26 saves, Christian Short had 37 saves and in a relief effort and Ian Andriano made 15 saves.
 
All Time Series
RIT holds a 37-20-6 all-time series advantage over Mercyhurst. The Lakers hold a 3-2-0 edge in the last five contests. 
 
Scouting RIT
The Tigers are coming into the weekend with a 3-2-0, 1-1-0 AHA record. They are coming off of a split weekend series with Robert Morris.
 
Girduckis is on top of the Tiger roster with seven points. Valenzuela and Brubacher have five points each and Jake Hamacher has four points.

In net, Drackett has put forth a 3-2-0 record with a 2.17 goals against average and .934 save percentage.
 
The Tigers are ranked 11th in the nation on the power play with 26.1 percent. They are 81.8 percent on the penalty kill.
 
A Look at the Lakers
Mercyhurst is coming into the weekend with a 1-5-1, 0-2-0 AHA record.
 
Dusazk is leading the Laker roster with seven points. Barach is next with six points and close behind are Hunter, Best and McDougall with five points each.
 
Between the pipes, Cantali has put forth a .907 save percentage, 2.72 GAA and 1-3-0 record. DeAugustine has a .860 save percentage, 5.98 GAA and 0-1-1 record. Garrett Metcalf has a .783 save percentage, 7.50 GAA and 0-1-0 record.

Daniels recorded his first collegiate point with an assist during the Lakers' 2-1 loss to Army on Friday.
