The Mercyhurst field hockey team will travel on Wednesday to take on Indiana (Pa.) in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) action. Mercyhurst (5-6, 1-3 PSAC) is coming off of a 3-1 loss to (#9) Bloomsburg. Indiana (Pa.) (5-7, 3-4 PSAC) is coming to the contest after dropping a 3-2 contest against Kutztown.
The Lakers are led by senior forward
Nicolette Tomani, who has scored a career high of seven goals and one assist for a total of 15 points. Tomani has two multiple goal games as she scored the both goals in a 2-0 victory over Mansfield and posted two points of the Lakers 6-2 victory over Converse. Sophomore
Clare Ahern, also having a record year has scored three goals and recorded five assists for 11 points.
Bryna Cook and
Taylor Balser round out the top offensive players each having six points on the season, Cook has three goals while Balser posted two goals and two assists.
Paige Albright, and
Leah Rogers have all been multiple goal scorers each finding net twice.
Victoria Triaga is the primary goalkeeper for Mercyhurst having played 692 minutes in goal, posting a .625 save rate and a 3.12 goals allowed average.
Indiana is led by Matti Reightler she has scored five goals and recorded six assists for a total of 16 points. Madelyn Mullen, has 10 points on the season scoring four goals and having two assists. Kalista Gioglio has also recorded four goals, for a total of eight points. Alyssa Lerda is the main goalkeeper for Indiana (Pa.) she has played 816 minutes in goal posting a .742 save percentage and a 1.97 goals allowed average.
The Lakers snatched a last minute 2-1 victory over Indiana earlier in the season when
Bryna Cook smacked in the game winning goal with 90 seconds remaining in regulation.
The contest is set to start at 4pm.
