FORT WAYNE, Ind. -- The Mercyhurst wrestling team will compete in the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Multi-Divisional National Duels on Thursday and Friday. The two-day duel-format tournament showcases the best teams of Division II wrestling as nine of the 16 teams competing are ranked within the top ten.

Mercyhurst is ranked sixth in the nation and is set to take on 21st-ranked Colorado State-Pueblo in the first round. Francis Mizia, the top-ranked wrestler for at 165 pounds, will take on third-ranked Jacobi Jones of CSP. The Lakers will also put out two other nationally-ranked wrestlers onto the mat: Willie Bohince, ranked second at 125 pounds; and Andrew Welton, ranked fifth at 285. 

The match against Colorado State-Pueblo is set to take place tomorrow at 11 a.m. Fans unable to attend, make sure to follow @lakerswrestling on Twitter for live updates.

If the Lakers earn a victory in the first round, they would face either Notre Dame (Ohio) and Indianapolis in the quarterfinals. NDC won the 2016 National Duels championship.
