ERIE, Pa. -- Mercyhurst wrestling head coach Jimmy Overhiser is excited to announce the team's schedule for the 2025-26 season. The Lakers will host three home events this year and travel to nearby Edinboro for a meet at the end of the season.
 
The season kicks off with a tri-meet on Nov. 22, where the Lakers will face VMI and Duke in back-to-back matches at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m, respectively.
 
Mercyhurst will host its first home meet on Dec. 6 in another tri-meet, welcoming Akron and Duquesne to campus. Matches are scheduled for 3 p.m. and 5 p.m.
 
Dec. 13, the Lakers will travel to face PSU Altoona at Penn State Behrend, with the action starting at noon.
 
Returning to the home mat on Jan.16, Mercyhurst will battle Slippery Rock at 6 pm.
 
A highlight of the season will be the Senior Night event on Jan. 30, when the Lakers host Penn State Behrend at 6 p.m. This special evening will honor the team's graduating seniors, recognizing their contributions and dedication to Mercyhurst wrestling.
 
The regular season wraps up on Feb. 19 with a tri-meet at Edinboro, where the Lakers will also compete against Bloomsburg. Matches are slated for 5 pm and 6 pm.
