LIMA, Peru – Mercyhurst wrestling commit Dominic Porter earned gold at the U20 Pan-American Championships in the 90-plus kilogram weight class in beach wrestling.
 
Porter went 3-1 in the tournament and took down Ibrack Angulo Castillo of Ecuador in the championship match, 3-1.
 
The incoming freshman tallied two pins on his way to a gold medal, downing Leonardo Guerrero Aviles of Mexico in 14 seconds to advance to the championship.
 
Porter joins the Lakers from Carson City, Nevada and will compete in the heavyweight class.
