BLOOMSBURG, Pa. -- The Mercyhurst men's tennis team placed runner-up at the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Tournament, claiming a 5-2 victory over Bloomsburg before falling in the final against Edinboro, 5-1, on Saturday.

Semifinals: Mercyhurst 5, Bloomsburg 2
The Lakers won 2 of 3 doubles matches before claiming three points in singles competition to win a match that began Friday and then finished Saturday.

In pairs, Travis Beck and Nenad Terzic took a 9-7 decision over Pablo Herrero and Dhir Gala in the first doubles match. At second doubles, Conor McCooey and Andoni Marquez Calderon earned an 8-6 victory agasint Gerard Puig and Nenyi Micah.

Beck, Marquez Calderon and Ross Molinaro IV locked in singles wins to clinch the Mercyhurst team victory.

Beck defeated Gilberto Machado, 6-2, 6-3, at No. 4 singles; Marquez Calderon bested Scott Langenbach, 6-7 (5-7), 6-2, 6-0, at fifth singles; and Molinaro handled Steve Williams, 6-2, 6-2, at sixth singles.

Finals: Edinboro 5, Mercyhurst 1
Beck and Terzic teamed for the Lakers' only point, winning the No. 1 singles match against Vitor Albanese and Camilo Moncayo, 8-6.

Edinboro won 2 of 3 doubles matches before taking three singles decisions to clinch the PSAC Tournament championship.
