PRINCETON, N.J. – The Mercyhurst men's tennis team traveled to Princeton over the weekend to compete in the ITA Northeast Regional Championships. Representing the Blue and Green were
Danylo Rekun,
Petar Belosevic,
Lukas Cabue Valverde, and
Colm Schultz, each of whom were looking to have strong finishes to their fall season.

In the singles qualifying bracket, Cabue faced off against Bucknell in the opening round of the tournament, but he would ultimately fall 6-1 and 7-6 [7-3]. Belosevic competed against Lehigh in his opening round and was able to come away with an exciting win of 6-4 and 6-4. In the following round, Belosevic would eventually fall to Columbia by a score of 6-4 and 7-5.

In the singles main draw bracket, Rekun would face Pennsylvania in the Round of 64, but he would fall 6-3 and 6-4.

In doubles competition, the team of Belosevic and Schultz faced off against Columbia in the opening round before falling 8-3. The second Laker team of Cabue and Rekun would go up against the New Jersey Institute of Technology, but would also fail to log a win by a score of 8-2.

The Lakers now head into a break before resuming play in the spring semester.
