Box Score SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. - The Mercyhurst volley ball team wrapped up their season against Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) competitor Slippery Rock University. Despite putting up a solid offense the Lakers were unable to a set victory from the Rock, dropping the match (0-3). The Rock came out to claim decisive sets scores of (25-17) in set one, in second two the score was (16-25), the game wrapped up with the final set scored at (23-25). With this loss the Lakers overall record lands at 15-19 overall while finishing 7-11 in the PSAC.
Senior
Lauren Kenny lead the Lakers offense registering nine kills in the match, followed closely by seniors
Haley Adams and
Sarah Wegrzyn each smacking eight a piece. The main setters for Mercyhurst were senior
Hannah Tombaugh, and junior
Abby Rose assisting 15 and 11 kills respectively.
Samantha Giardina was the team leader in digs posting a high of 12. Other notable Laker scoring was done by Adams and Tombaugh who each served up an ace from the line. Defensively there were four block assists split among four Laker players, Adams, Kenny,
Shelby Chesko, and
Alyssa Kling.
