#2 Men's Lax Hosts #6 Seton Hill in ECAC Opener Saturday

ERIE, Pa.- The #2 Mercyhurst men's lacrosse team hosts #6 Seton Hill in the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) opener on Saturday, March 8. Face-off is slated for 1 p.m. at Tullio Field.

Mercyhurst is 2-0 after beating then-#9 Pfeiffer, 12-5, on March 1. Brady Heseltine recorded five goals and an assist on his way to being named ECAC Offensive Player of the Week. Andrew Wagner earned ECAC Defensive Player of the Week honors after holding the Falcons' leading scorer, Tucker Hammock, to one goal and two turnovers. Ryan Sullivan was chosen ECAC Specialist of the Week for his work on Pfeiffer's Steven Tilmon, who was kept off the scoreboard Saturday.
 
Seton Hill has a 3-0 record after defeating Ohio Valley, NYIT, and Chestnut Hill to start the season. Matt Delmonico leads the Griffins with 12 goals, while Marc Piche and Dylan Lefebvre have combined for 13 goals and 12 assists this year. Brady Lawrence has started all three games in net, allowing 8.47 goals per game.
 
Heseltine has eight goals to lead the Lakers. Jake McAndrew has scored four times. Michael Grace is giving up 6.0 goals per game in net, having stopped 65.7 percent of his shots.
 
The teams have met in each of the last eight seasons, including a 12-9 Mercyhurst win at Seton Hill last season. With both teams unbeaten in ECAC action, the Lakers won on the road, securing home-field advantage for the ECAC Tournament. Both teams qualified for the NCAA Tournament, with Mercyhurst making it to the NCAA Championship Game and Seton Hill falling to Limestone in the first round.
