ATLANTA, Ga. — Former Mercyhurst University men's lacrosse standout and current assistant coach Jérémi Phoenix-Lefebvre was selected 16th overall by the Georgia Swarm in the first round of the 2025 National Lacrosse League Entry Draft on Friday.
Phoenix-Lefebvre, a native of Terrebonne, Quebec, played four seasons at Mercyhurst, where he recorded 136 points (87 goals) in 47 career starts. In 2024, he earned All-Great Midwest Athletic Conference honors and was named to the USILA All-America team as an honorable mention. He served as a team captain during his senior season and helped lead the Lakers to multiple NCAA Division II tournament appearances.
"Being drafted into the NLL is more than a personal milestone, it's a chance to represent Quebec lacrosse on the biggest stage." Phoenix-Lefebvre said. "Quebec gave me my passion, Mercyhurst helped sharpen it, and now coaching here lets me pass it on. I'm grateful for the people and communities that shaped me, and I'm proud to carry them with me into this next chapter."
Phoenix-Lefebvre is the first Mercyhurst player selected in the NLL Draft since 2021, when former Lakers Nathan Grenon and Caleb Kueber were first round selections while Devin Pipher was taken in round two by no other than, the Georgia Swarm.
Phoenix-Lefebvre also competed with the Cobourg Kodiaks of Major Series Lacrosse (MSL) during the off-season.
The No. 16 pick was acquired by Georgia from Halifax via Rochester.
