Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 FAIRMONT, W. Va.- The Mercyhurst volleyball team split two matches at the Falcon Fest Friday. The Lakers began their season with a sweep of Ursuline (Ohio) before falling to the host, Fairmont State, in three games.

In the opener against the Arrows, Mercyhurst won by scores of 25-15, 25-21, and 25-21. Nicole Texido led with 19 digs.

The Lakers then faced the Falcons, falling 27-25, 25-15, and 25-22. Texido had 18 digs, while Rachel Crittle had seven kills and 10 total blocks.

Mercyhurst returns to action tomorrow, taking on West Liberty at 9 a.m. and West Virginia Wesleyan at 2 p.m.
