Volleyball Drops Match at Findlay Saturday Night

Mercyhurst will play at the MAC next weekend.

FINDLAY, Ohio- The Mercyhurst volleyball team lost at Findlay, 3-0, Saturday night. The Lakers fell by scores of 25-23, 25-17, and 25-17 in the non-conference match.
 
Mercyhurst took an early lead in the first game, going ahead 10-7 on a Kelsi Romatowski. Tai Lattimore assisted on a Rachel Crittle kill to make it 16-12. Another Crittle point extended the Laker advantage. Hannah Tombaugh set up Lexi Stefanov for a kill to give the Lakers a 21-15 lead. Points by Stefanov and Sarah Vick put Mercyhurst ahead 23-19. Findlay rallied to score six straight points and take the set.
 
Vick led with 7.5 points (six kills, one block solo, one block assist), while Camille Alvarez had seven points (five kills, one ace, one block solo). Lattimore dished out 14 assists.
 
Mercyhurst dropped to 3-4 this season, while Findlay moved to 6-2. The Lakers open the home portion of their schedule next weekend, facing West Virginia State, Notre Dame College, and West Virginia Wesleyan at the Mercyhurst Athletic Center.
