#1 Men's Lax Takes on #2 Limestone in Semi Saturday (Video)

ERIE, Pa.- The #1 Mercyhurst men's lacrosse team hosts #2 Limestone in an NCAA Tournament Semifinal on Saturday, May 18. The match is set for a 2 p.m. start at Tullio Field.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students. Ages 12-and-under will be admitted free of charge. No complimentary passes will be accepted for the game, per NCAA rules. This includes Mercyhurst President's Cards. Ticket purchases are cash only at the gate. Per NCAA rules, the ticket gate will open 90 minutes prior to faceoff on the day of the game. No dogs are allowed inside Tullio Field.


 
The Lakers are 17-0, including a 10-9 overtime win against Lake Erie College May 11. Brady Heseltine scored with 1:47 remaining in the extra period, sending Mercyhurst to a third straight Final Four appearance.
 
The Saints have a 16-1 mark, having beaten Seton Hill, 16-13, last weekend. Riley Loewen posted five goals and three assists as Limestone advanced to the semifinals.
 
Brian Scheetz leads Mercyhurst with 25 goals, 40 assists, and 65 points. In his career, he has a school-record 226 points. Jake McAndrew and Heseltine have combined for 74 goals. James Chayka has 24 goals and 13 assists, while Zac Reid has added 22 goals and 14 helpers. Michael Grace is allowing 7.51 goals per game and has a .566 save percentage. Mitch McAvoy is winning 59.8 percent of his faceoffs, while Ryan Sullivan has a team-high 20 caused turnovers.
 
Loewen paces the Saints with 51 goals, 35 assists, and 86 points. He is Limestone's career leader in goals. Corey Rich has 33 goals and 21 helpers, while Zach Cummings has scored 32 goals. Tor Reinholdt has totaled 20 goals and 27 assists. Christian Dzwilewski is giving up 8.22 goals per match. He is also posting a .588 save percentage. Jake Ternosky has won 65 percent of his faceoffs and has picked up 100 ground balls.
 
Saturday will mark Limestone's first game at Tullio Field. The Lakers lead the all-time series, 4-3. There have been five neutral games and two contests at Limestone in the series' history. Mercyhurst has won the last three meetings, including a 12-8 win on April 23, 2011. The Saints have won both previous matchups in the NCAA Tournament, though, eliminating the Lakers in 2003 and 2004.
 
The winner of Saturday's match will move on to the NCAA Championship on Sunday, May 26, against the winner of the Le Moyne at Adelphi semifinal. The national title game will be played at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia. Game notes for the Limestone-Mercyhurst match are available here.
