Men's Tennis Triumphant At Bloomsburg, 8-1

BLOOMSBURG, Pa. -- The Mercyhurst University men's tennis opened a two-day road trip in dominating fashion, prevailing over the winless Bloomsburg Huskies 8-1.  The Lakers' first win since October 3, 2012 improved the season record to 3-8.

The duos of Robert Rizea/Mauricio Canton Diaz and Eric Drusko/Mike Vinopal helped Mercyhurst take two out of three doubles matches, as they each prevailed 8-5 over Kyle Christy/Devin Bolton (No. 2) and Doug Sensi/Jeff Dailey (No. 3) respectively.  The Lakers went on to sweep all six singles matches, highlighted by Travis Beck and Mike Vinopal.  Both players each earned 6-0, 6-1 decision over Brayden Shipman (No. 2) and Sam Tustin (No. 6) respectively.

Mercyhurst will close its road trip tomorrow afternoon at 12 pm, as they travel to Kutztown University for the match with the Golden Bears.
