#1 Men's Lacrosse Set to Play Two Games This Weekend

ERIE, Pa.- The #1 Mercyhurst men's lacrosse team will play two Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) games this weekend. The Lakers hit the road for a game with Ohio Valley on Friday, March 22, and then host Walsh (Ohio) on Sunday, March 24, at Tullio Field.
 
The match with Ohio Valley has been moved to Bethany, West Virginia, due to poor field conditions at Ohio Valley's regular field. The contest is slated for a 4 p.m. faceoff.
 
Mercyhurst returns home for another conference game with Walsh on Sunday. Faceoff is set for 3 p.m. at Tullio Field. Live stats will be available at http://www.sidearmstats.com/hurst/mlax/scoreboard.aspx.
 
Coach Chris Ryan's squad is 5-0 in 2013, including a 14-9 victory at Lindenwood (Mo.) March 16. Brady Heseltine scored a career-high six goals, earning ECAC Offensive Player of the Week honors for his efforts. Heseltine has a team-high 15 goals this season. Brian Scheetz, the school's career points leader, has 10 goals and nine assists in 2013. Michael Grace has started all five matches in net, allowing 6.10 goals per game.
 
Ohio Valley has a 3-3 mark this season. It has won its last two matches, defeating Young Harris and Lees-McRae on the road last weekend. In the win at Lees-McRae, Chris Kasper led the Scots with four goals and an assist. Nathan Hodgins had three goals and a helper, while Stan Mackey recorded a hat trick.
 
Walsh is 0-2 this year, having lost at Roberts Wesley and and Seton Hill to open the season. Mason Axline leads the Cavaliers with five goals, while Ben Stephens has three goals and three assists.
 
The Lakers have won 25 consecutive regular season games and has taken their last 14 regular season home outings. This weekend marks the program's first-ever meetings with Ohio Valley and Walsh.
