Men's Hoops to Face East Stroudsburg in PSAC Final Four

ERIE, Pa.- The Mercyhurst men's basketball team will take on East Stroudsburg in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Final Four on Friday, March 2. The game will be hosted by West Chester at Hollinger Fieldhouse. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.

The Lakers won, 77-69, over Slippery Rock on February 28 in a PSAC quarterfinal to advance to the Final Four. Matt Lee and Luis Leao combined for 36 points, while Jonathan Ouegnin recorded nine points, nine rebounds, three steals, and three blocked shots. It was Hurst's first PSAC Tournament victory since joining the league prior to the 2008-09 season.
 
East Stroudsburg, the fourth seed in the Eastern Division, upset first-seeded Kutztown, 99-91 in overtime, on February 28. Terrance King scored 32 points and pulled down 10 boards. The Warriors have now advanced to the PSAC semifinals three consecutive times.
 
Indiana (Pa.), the top seed out of the Western Division, and West Chester, the East's third seed, will square off in the other semifinal contest. Their game is slated to start after the Mercyhurst-East Stroudsburg contest at approximately 7:30 p.m.
 
The winners of Friday's meetings will play in the title game on Saturday, March 3, at 7 p.m.
 
Hurst (18-9) beat East Stroudsburg, 70-65, at the MAC on December 4. Andrew Rickard scored 24 points to lead the Lakers. ESU won, 88-86 in overtime, at home during the 2010-11 campaign. The all-time series is tied at 2.
 
Lee paces the Lakers with nearly 16 points per game. The all-PSAC West Second Team choice has hit 69 treys this season. Leao is next with 14.9 points and five boards a contest.  Four Warriors are averaging double-digit points on the season, led by Whis Grant, at 14.1 points. Duane Johnson was an all-PSAC East First Team pick, while Russell Graham III and Terrance King were both Second Team selections.
