Men's Basketball Makes Trip to Lock Haven for Season Finale

ERIE, Pa.- The Mercyhurst men's basketball teams heads to Lock Haven Saturday, February 25, on the final day of the regular season. The Lakers can clinch home court advantage for the first round of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Tournament with a win. Tip-off is slated for 3 p.m.

Hurst is 16-9 overall and 14-7 in the conference. It sits alone in second place in the Western Division. With a win, the Lakers will host a first round PSAC Tournament on Tuesday, February 28 at 7 p.m. With a loss, Mercyhurst can still get a home game, but will need a loss by either California (Pa.) or Slippery Rock.

Lock Haven enters Saturday with an 0-24 record and an 0-20 PSAC mark. The Bald Eagles lost, 61-53, to #13 Indiana (Pa.) on February 22. Haven is on a 43-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Coach Gary Manchel's squad has lost two in a row, including a 73-64 home loss to Edinboro on February 22. It is ranked ninth in the latest NCAA Atlantic Region rankings, released prior to the Edinboro game.

Hurst beat LHU, 95-68, on February 1, at the MAC. Nine Lakers scored at least seven points and a tenth, Jamal Turner, had 10 assists. Mercyhurst shot 66.1 percent from the field. Anthony Baker led the Eagles with 29 points on 11-15 free throw shooting.
