MEADVILLE, Pa. - The Mercyhurst College men's tennis suffered a 5-0 defeat at the hands of Allegheny College in Meadville, Pa. on Tuesday. The match was shortened due to inclement weather in Crawford County.

Jorn van der Veer was leading after the first set, 6-4, in his singles match, but could not complete the second set due to rain.
The Lakers have yet to play a full match as a team this fall, with their opening match at Robert Morris also shortened due to rain. Against the Colonials, the Lakers trailed 5-2 when the rains came. Senior captain
Keith Whittingham defeated the #1 singles player at Robert Morris 6-4, 6-1 during the opening match of the season.
The Lakers, still looking to complete a full team match, will try again next Friday, September 23, when they take on Penn State Behrend at 3 p.m. The match will be played at Behrend's tennis courts.
