ERIE, Pa. - The third-ranked Mercyhurst College men's lacrosse won its seventh game of the season Sunday afternoon, defeating Grand Canyon, 14-3, in a non-conference match-up at Tullio Field. The Lakers improve to 7-0 on the season while the Antelopes fall to 2-8.
Mercyhurst saw 11 players find the back of the net and 14 players tally at least a point in the victory.

Brett McClelland each registered a game-high three points with two goals and an assist apiece.

The Lakers took care of business in the first half, jumping out to a 5-0 lead in the first quarter before expanding it to 10-1 at halftime. MC outshot the Antelopes 26-7 through the first two quarters and forced them into 19 turnovers. After the break, Mercyhurst added two more goals in the third and another two in the fourth.
Mercyhurst finished the game with a 39-21 edge in shots. Junior
Michael Jeschawitz earned the victory with six saves and three goals allowed through 45 minutes worth of action. Freshman
Cameron Watts finished the fourth quarter with one stop.
The Lakers return to East Coast Conference play next weekend when Chestnut Hill visits Tullio Field on Saturday, Apr. 3 at 1 p.m.
