ERIE, Pa. -- The Mercyhurst College men's tennis team continued its winning ways on Saturday with a 5-4 victory over Millersville in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference matchup.
The men's team has a new look with Erie native
Keith Whittingham. A transfer, he is making an immediate impression at No. 1 singles for the Lakers, taking a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Drew Slocum before teaming with
Mijo Cotic for a win at No. 1 doubles.
Senior captain
Kyle King currently ranks 11th in the Atlantic Region. As a team, the Mercyhurst men are ranked ninth in the Atlantic Region and with wins over Millersville, the eighth-ranked team in the region, and Kutztown, the region's third-ranked team, the Lakers should be contenders for one of the eight NCAA regional spots.
