ERIE, Pa. – Allegra Ramos' goal with 21 seconds elapsed in the first overtime broke a 2-2 tie and lifted Seton Hill to a 3-2 OT victory over the Mercyhurst College field hockey team Thursday afternoon at Tullio Field. Ramos dealt the Lakers (2-10) their fifth consecutive setback when she tipped in a deflected ball with 14:39 showing on the clock.
Seton Hill never trailed in the game but saw a determined Mercyhurst squad fight back from a pair of one-goal deficits as sophomore

Meghan Smith joined forces on both Laker goals. Ramsdell recorded the first multi-goal game of her career by scoring both goals off of passes from Smith, who marked her first collegiate assists on the plays.
Trailing late in the first half, Ramsdell wiped out an early goal by Krista Archembeau and sent the teams into halftime tied at one when she deflected in Smith's shot from about 10 yards out with less than six minutes to play.
Both teams then exchanged goals over a span of 45 seconds midway through the second half. Janelle Hofer broke the deadlock by scoring on a rebound attempt at the 50:28 mark, while Ramsdell connected right in front of the cage as well, netting her second of the game at 51:13.
Seton Hill outshot its host 16-10 and held a 14-3 advantage in penalty corners. Junior
Ashley Wiskup made the start in goal and recorded six of the eight saves made by Mercyhurst. Junior
Rachel Sluberski and freshman
Kellie Avery accounted for the other two with a defensive save apiece.
Mercyhurst will look to rebound when it hosts Slippery Rock on Tuesday, Oct. 26, in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Western Division contest at 4 p.m. at Tullio Field.
