NEWBERRY, S.C. -- The Mercyhurst College wrestling team went 2-2 at the Super Region I Duals on Saturday, defeating Anderson (30-12) and Belmont Abbey (32-15) while falling to Limestone (19-12) and UNC-Pembroke (22-18).

The Lakers (4-8) were led by a trio of grapplers who went undefeated, including the nation's top-ranked 165-pounder and defending national champion Josh Shields.  The senior posted two decisions,  a fall and a major decision.

Freshman 133-pounder David Bolger also went undefeated on the day, winning two by decision, a fall and a major decision.  Sophomore Fred Hale dominated his heavyweight opponents as he posted two major decisions.

Andy Lamancusa, the nation's third-ranked 157-pounder, finished the day with a 3-1 mark, falling in his final match of the day to UNCP's Michael Williams by a slim 5-4 margin.

Mercyhurst returns to action on Saturday, January 30 when the Lakers host cross-town rival Gannon University and perennial power Newberry College in a tri-match.  Action begins at 11 a.m.
