LAURINBURG, N.C. -- The No. 10 Mercyhurst Lakers split a pair of dual meets on the first day of the East Coast Duals, hosted by St. Andrews Presbyterian College.

In the first match of the evening, Mercyhurst defeated UNC-Pembroke 27-9 before tying Carson-Newman, 22-22, in the nightcap.

The Lakers are back in action tomorrow at 11 a.m. when they take on Anderson, followed by Shippensburg at 2 p.m. and Belmont-Abbey at 3:30 p.m.

Mercyhurst is now 8-5-1 on the year.
