Slippery Rock, Pa. – The Mercyhurst College field hockey team rolled to its third straight victory with a 2-0 shutout of Slippery Rock Wednesday afternoon at N. Kerr Thompson Stadium.
In their second shutout of The Rock this season, the Lakers (9-8, 4-3 PSAC West) moved one game over .500 for the first time since the start of 2006 and helped several team members set new records.
For head coach
Stacey Gaudette, the win marks her 46th career at Mercyhurst, surpassing former head coach Kevin Cooke (1998-02; 45-39-1) by one for all-time wins as the Lakers' skipper.
Junior

Her goal, which came as an insurance marker midway through the first half, moves her into a tie with Jenna Hartman (1999-02) for third place all-time for goals scored in a season (14). It also locks her in a third place draw with Sarah D'Emilio (1999-02) for goals scored in a career (27).
Senior
