2024: Appeared in 18 games with starts in two. Scored seven goals to go along with four assists for a total of 11 points while having 10 ground balls. Had goals in consecutive games on two occasions with a season-high three game streak from 4/17/24 to 4/23/24. Had back-to-back games with at least one goal and one assist against Wingate on 2/10/24 and Indianapolis on 2/17/24.

2023: Appeared in 18 games with all coming off the bench. Scored four goals and had eight assists for a total of 12 points while adding five ground balls to his line. Had a season-high three assists against Seton Hill on 5/6/23.

2022: Appeared in all 16 games, making a start in one. Tallied five goals to go along with two assists. Scooped up three ground balls. Had two multi-point games against Wheeling on 3/19 and Lake Erie on 3/22.

2021: Appeared in seven games off the bench as a freshman, totaling ten points on eight goals and two assists while tracking down five groundballs.  Had multiple goals in three games, including a hat trick against Alderson Broaddus on April 17th.    

Major: Intelligence Studies

Prior to Mercyhurst:  Was a multi-sport athlete at West Seneca East Senior High School where he played both lacrosse and hockey.  On the turf he helped his school to a Section Six Championship, while as an individual he took home First Team All-League and Second Team All-Section Six honors, in addition to being chosen as Team Offensive MVP.  On the ice, he aided the school in capturing a Section Six title as well as holding the school record for Most Games Played in Program History.  For club he was on Preformax Lacrosse Club and the Buffalo Regals SCTA Hockey Club.   

Personal:  Son of Ed and Jennifer Schmatz ... Has one sibling, sister Emily ... Father played college football at Ashland College.
