ERIE, Pa. — Mercyhurst narrowly fell to FDU with a final score of 10-9 in an 11-inning game on Sunday. The Lakers' offensive effort included 10 hits and a home run, but FDU's five home runs proved decisive in the extra-inning contest.
FDU took an early lead in the first inning with a solo home run. The Lakers were unable to respond in the bottom half, leaving the score at 1-0 after one inning.
The second inning saw FDU extend its lead with three runs, including a solo home run and RBI hits. Mercyhurst's offense remained quiet, and the score advanced to 4-0 in favor of FDU.
