Women's Lacrosse Travels to New Haven to Open NEC Play

The Mercyhurst women's lacrosse team will travel to West Haven, Conn. Saturday to open NEC play and meet new NEC arrival New Haven.

Previously from the Lakers
The Lakers most recently traveled to Iona where they fell 14-9.

Whitley Easton led the Lakers in scoring with four goals on five shots on goal. Easton also tallied one assist, scooped up one ground ball, and caused one turnover.

Maggie Sheehan and Emma Cimino also grabbed two goals each. Sheehan also grabbed one assist.

Keira Mangels notched an assist, while Natalie Wilson won three draw controls.

Katie Ventresca had a team-high four ground balls, caused a team-high two turnovers, and won three draw controls. 

Goalie Maggie Allen made 13 saves on 27 shots on goal.

  • Easton leads the Lakers in goals with 14, assists with three, and points with 17. Easton also leads the team in caused turnovers with seven. 
  • Cimino is second in goals with nine.
  • Sheehan is tied in first in assists with three.
  • Ventresca leads the Lakers in ground balls scooping up 11 so far this season. She also sits at second in caused turnovers with six.
  • Allen has started every game so far for the Lakers, she has made 56 saves this season.

  • The Chargers are 1-4 so far this season.
  • They found their only win in their season opener against Sacred Heart where they won 10-7.
  • Helena Dunwoody leads the Chargers in goals this season with 14. Dunwoody also leads the team in draw controls with 27. 
  • Caitlin Seleny leads the Chargers in assists with 12 and points with 21.
  • Summer Castiglione leads the Chargers in ground balls scooping up 10 so far this season. Juliet Legassa and Castiglione lead the Chargers in caused turnovers with seven each.
  • Ainsley Bourbeau stands in goal for the Chargers and has made 32 saves so far this season.
