HAMILTON, N.Y. – The Mercyhurst women's tennis team traveled to upstate New York to take on the Colgate Raiders on Sunday. After an exciting conference win at Le Moyne, the Lakers were looking to continue their strong performances as the month of March began.

In singles competition,
Daria Rogova opened with a resounding singles win for the Blue and Green, winning by scores of 6-3 and 6-2.
Simone Mercier followed with an opening set win of 6-2 before falling in the last pair of sets 7-6 and 1-0, each decided by tiebreakers.
Kiersten Brown fell in her matchup by a score of 6-0 and attempted to bounce back in the following set, but lost 6-4.
Celeste Davis fell in both of her sets by a score of 6-2.
Ellyana Jacobs kept competition tight in her match, but fell 6-3 in both sets.
Mollie Gray rounded out the Laker singles matches by falling 6-0 both times out.

In doubles competition, the team of Rogova/Davis opened for the Lakers, but fell 6-3. The team of Mercier/Brown came away with a close 6-4 victory over the Raiders while the team of Gray/Jacobs fell 6-0 in their match.

The Lakers ultimately fell by a score of 6-1.

The Blue and Green will next take on the Long Island Sharks at Westwood Racquet Club Tuesday, March 17. Start time set for 11:00 AM.
