Bach, Maisonneuve, VanNetten Featured as AHA Players of the Week

BOSTON – Atlantic Hockey America released their players of the week for the Feb. 9-15 slate of games. The Mercyhurst women's hockey team, recently ranked No. 13 in the nation, had three skaters receive awards. They finish the regular season with 23 total awards. Tara Bach was named Goaltender of the Week, Jade Maisonneuve earned Forward of the Week, and Holly VanNetten is the Rookie the Week. 
 
Bach had another stellar performance to add to her catalog this season and was named AHA Goaltender of the Week for the second time. The Laker's freshman netminder recorded 31 saves and a shutout in the team's win over Syracuse. On the season, the Oakville, Ontario native is 6-1-0. She has a goals allowed average of .900 and a save percentage of .955. This past weekend was her third shutout of the season.  
 
Maisonneuve, earning the first AHA award of her career, was one of the best forwards on the ice for the Lakers this past weekend. The St. Isidore, Ontario native recorded one goal and four assists for an AHA-high five points on the week. She assisted both goals in the team's 2-2 tie vs. Syracuse in game one. In game two, Maisonneuve scored one and assisted two others in their 7-0 win. To top it off, Saturday's game was senior day. Maisonneuve was not only honored as a senior, but as the recipient of Mercyhurst hockey's annual Bill Smith award for embodying what it means to be a Mercyhurst hockey player.  
 
VanNetten was named the AHA Rookie of the Week for the first time this season. She previously earned Defenseman of the Week in November. This past weekend, the Simcoe, Ontario native recorded two goals and an assist for three points. In game one, VanNetten scored in the 2-2 draw vs. Syracuse. She then scored and assisted in the 7-0 win in game two. The Laker's freshman blue liner was second in the AHA this week in net rating with +3.
