BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Mercyhurst women's tennis team traveled north to Buffalo to take on the Bulls to kick off the week. The Lakers were looking for a strong performance after falling to Bowling Green the previous week.

In singles competition,
Daria Rogova came out strong and defeated her opponent 6-4 in their opening set and eventually won her match despite falling 6-4 in the following set thanks to a 10-3 tiebreaker.
Simone Mercier also featured some strong gameplay by battling in a 6-4 loss before finally falling in her final set 6-0.
Kiersten Brown had to pressure her opponent before falling 7-5. She would eventually come up short in her final set by a score of 6-0.
Ellyana Jacobs opened her match with a 6-2 loss and fell 6-0 in her final round.
Celeste Davis maintained pressure on her opponent, but fell 6-2 in both sets.
Mollie Gray was unable to log a singles win after falling 6-0 in each of her sets.

In doubles competition, the team of Mercier and Rogova had the strongest Laker performance despite the 6-2 loss. The teams of Jacobs/Brown and Gray/Davis both fell 6-1 in their matches.

The Lakers ultimately fell to the Bulls 6-1.

The Blue and Green will next travel to Syracuse, N.Y. for their first NEC matchup of the season with Le Moyne. Start time set for 12:30 PM.
