ERIE, Pa. — The Mercyhurst women's basketball team sailed to a 85-61 victory over Saint Francis, at the Mercyhurst Athletic Center, making 18 3-pointers, including eight from sophomore
Lena Walz.

The Lakers recorded an assist on 25 of their 28 made field goals.
Cici Hernandez poured in 16 points while
Imani Frazier added 10 off the bench.

The Lakers (9-15, 9-4 NEC) opened the first quarter with a strong offensive display, highlighted by Walz's early 3-pointer at 9:01. They maintained momentum throughout, culminating in a decisive 3-point shot from Hernandez with just 24 seconds remaining, increasing the lead to 25–11. The Lakers' efficient ball movement resulted in assists on eight of their nine baskets, enabling them to finish the quarter ahead by 14 points.

Mercyhurst took control in the second quarter with a series of key plays, beginning with Frazier's layup at 8:11, assisted by
Lauryn Stover, which helped maintain their lead.
Sofia Wilson contributed a pivotal 3-pointer at 6:10, widening the gap further.
