The Mercyhurst volleyball team is set to continue their 2026 season on the road, beginning NEC-play against FDU.

The Lakers are coming off of a bye week after competing at the Bobcat Invitational. They lost their first game to UNC Asheville 3-1, swept Morgan State 3-0, and lost their final game to Ohio 3-1.
The Watchlist:
Middle blocker
Ava Carney took home Ohio All-Tournament honors for the Lakers. She had 19 kills, 10 blocks, totaling at 26.5 points, with a .310 hitting percentage. Despite not playing last week, Carney still leads the NEC with a .376 hitting percentage.
Opposite
Julia Shepherd took home Prime Performer honors after her performance throughout the Bobcat Invitational. She had 34 kills, nine digs and a block to go with a .288 hitting percentage. Shepherd averages 3.33 kills per set, which leads the Lakers and is fourth in the NEC.

Mercyhurst is 1-3 all-time against FDU. Their matchup history dates back all the way to 2024, when the Lakers transitioned to the Division I level. The Lakers won their most recent matchup against the Knights 3-1 with Shepherd getting 14 kills and three blocks in that matchup.
