The Lakers responded with offensive pressure, earning multiple corner kicks and creating chances, such as
Isabella Fiorillo's shot shortly after a corner. While
Ellie Mills had an opportunity to narrow the gap with a penalty kick in the 34th minute, Howard's goalkeeper, made the save to maintain their advantage. The half concluded with Howard leading 2-0, despite the Green and Blue's persistent attempts to shift momentum.
The second half commenced with the Lakers seeking to overturn a two-goal deficit against the Bison. The half concluded with Mercyhurst unable to alter the scoreboard, ending with a score of Howard 2, Mercyhurst 0.
