Lakers Gear Up for a Pair of NEC Showdowns

Teaneck, NJ – Mercyhurst Women's Lacrosse is preparing for a critical stretch of conference games as the season winds down. The Lakers will first travel to Teaneck, NJ to face FDU on Saturday, April 12 at 12:00 PM, before returning to Erie for their final home game of the season and Senior Day matchup against Central Connecticut State University on Saturday, April 19 at 1:00 PM.

Laker Outlook

Mercyhurst has shown resilience in recent play, despite falling to Kent State and LIU. Their most recent victory was an electrifying 12-10 comeback win over Le Moyne College on Wednesday, where the Lakers rallied in the fourth quarter to secure the win. They now look to build on this momentum as they head into their next two conference matchups.

Whitley Easton continues to lead the team offensively with 41 goals and 25 assists, totaling 66 points so far this season. Emma Cimino has also been a key contributor, with 25 goals and 2 assists for 27 points. On the defensive side, Maggie Allen has been a standout, leading the team in saves with 69. Mercyhurst now holds a 4-7 overall record and a 4-2 mark in the NEC, currently sitting 4th in the conference standings.

Scouting FDU

The Knights enter the matchup with a 3-10 overall record and a 2-4 record in the NEC. Their wins this season have come against La Salle, Howard, and Le Moyne. Adriana Mavlios has been the offensive leader for FDU, tallying 31 points, including 19 goals and 12 assists. FDU currently ranks 6th in the NEC standings.

Scouting CCSU

Central Connecticut State University comes into the matchup with a 2-10 overall record and a 2-4 record in the conference, having defeated Howard and Delaware State this season. Abbey Cannon leads the Blue Devils with 14 points, including 7 goals and 7 assists. CCSU currently ranks 8th in the NEC standings.
