Stonegate, OH. – The Mercyhurst Women's Equestrian Team capped off their season this past weekend with a strong showing at Stonegate, closing out a year of steady improvement and standout performances. The Lakers gained momentum as the season progressed and finished on a high note.

After a slow start early in the year, the team found their rhythm and began to gel both in and out of the ring. Riders showed steady growth in technique, confidence, and consistency at each competition. With every show, the Lakers rode smarter, stronger, and more unified, proving that their hard work in practice was paying off. By the time they reached the final event at Stonegate, the team had not only improved their standings but also developed a strong sense of camaraderie that will carry into next season.

Freshman Delia Brasington and Junior Jeanette Baker both had standout seasons and are currently on track to qualify for Regionals in the fall, an exciting milestone that highlights their hard work and development in the ring. Sophomore Grace Denten has also proven to be a valuable addition to the team, consistently earning points and contributing to the Lakers' competitive edge.

This season was a testament to the team's determination, unity, and commitment. From overcoming early challenges to celebrating big wins later in the semester, every rider played a role in the team's success. Whether it was earning ribbons in the ring or offering encouragement during practice and shows, the Lakers built a culture centered on support and growth. That bond made each accomplishment even more meaningful—and set the tone for the future of the program.

Looking ahead, the team is excited to welcome new members and continue building on this year's success. Recruitment for the 2025–2026 academic year is underway, and we are actively seeking passionate, committed riders to join our growing program.
