Men's Ice Hockey Travels to Holy Cross for Final Matchup of 2025

The Mercyhurst men's ice hockey team will travel to Worcester, Mass. this weekend for a midday matchup against AHA opponent Holy Cross.
 
Previously from the Lakers
The Lakers split their series home and away last weekend against fellow keystone state opponent RMU. They fell Friday 1-3 at home and found one point in a 1-1 tie that ended in a shootout loss in Moon Township.
 
The Watchlist
Two goals were scored last weekend by the Lakers. Dominik Bartecko notched the first goal on Friday. He was assisted by Trent Sambrook and Tyler DesRochers.
 
Christian Kocsis scored the lone goal on Saturday in the second period. He was assisted by Jacob LeBlanc and Bartecko.
 
Bartecko finished the weekend with two points, while J. Leblanc's assist keeps him on the top of the Laker leaderboard with six assists.
 
Charles-Edward Gravel stood in goal for the Lakers in both matchups. He made 58 saves on the weekend, coming away with a .935 save percentage.
 
 
A Closer Look: Holy Cross
 
  • Midway through the season, Holy Cross is 9-6-1 overall and 7-1-1 in AHA play. They currently sit in first overall in AHA standings.
  •  The Crusaders traveled to Erie earlier in the season on October 18 in the Lakers' first AHA matchup of 2025-26. The Lakers fell 4-0.
  • Since the Crusaders met the Lakers at the Mercyhurst Ice Center, they went on a nine game winning streak which was most recently ended in a 6-7 overtime loss to #8 Quinnipiac.
  •  Army is the only AHA opponent who has handed them a loss this season.
  • Matt DeBoer has been a key player for the Crusaders. DeBoer is tied in goals with eight, second in assists with eight, and first in points with 16.
  • Most recently, DeBoer was named AHA Forward of the Month as he garnered 12 of his 16 points in the month of November with six goals and six assists.
  • DeBoer is tied for second in Atlantic Hockey in points and goals, and is tied for first in game winning goals with three.
  • Jack Stockfish and Michael Abgrall are tied in first with DeBoer with eight goals each.
  • Stockfish is second in points with 15, right behind DeBoer and tied in fourth in assists with seven.
  • Abgrall is tied for third in points with Noah Eyre with 14.
  • Eyre has been a major helper on the ice as he leads in assists with 10. He is tied with teammate Will Elias.
  • Elias has tallied 11 points this season on his 10 assists and one goal.
  • Mack Oliphant is tied for fourth with Stockfish in assists with seven and has 10 points thus far.
 
The Lakers are 32-20-9 overall when facing the Crusaders.
