ERIE, Pa. – The Mercyhurst wrestling team went 1-1 in a tri-match at Penn State Behrend Saturday. The Lakers opened the day with a 59-0 win over Penn State Altoona, before falling the Penn State Behrend, 42-9.
 
Travis Browning started the day with a pinfall win over Penn State Altoona's Tammar Reza at 125 lbs.
 
Maxx Fesinger also earned a win by fall in the match at 174 lbs.
 
Keith Mincin earned a tech fall to secure five points in the 165 bout.
 
The seven other weight classes were forfeited by Penn State Altoona, giving Mercyhurst a 59-0 win.
 
Browning earned another win by fall against PSB, taking down Angelo Lomonte in 1:19.
 
The Lakers dropped the 141-165 matches, giving the Lions a 24-6 advantage.
 
Securing his second win of the day, Fesinger posted a 5-2 decision to make it 24-9 in favor of Behrend.
 
The Lakers dropped the 184, 197, and 285 bouts by pinfall, dropping the match 42-9.
 
Mercyhurst is back in action Dec. 20 at the Kent State Open.
