Bozeman, MT-After securing their first win as a Division I institution in week 1, the Lakers have dropped two tough ones to Howard and Robert Morris University. Last week, the Colonials gained early momentum by scoring two early first quarter touchdowns and didn't look back, securing a 55-28 win in Northeast Conference play.

Mercyhurst now holds a 1-2 record heading into week 4. This week's meeting with Montana State in Bozeman, MT will be arguably the toughest contest in program history. The game is scheduled for Saturday, September 21
st at 3 P.M. EST. This will be the first contest between the two teams.

A Look Back
The Colonials took an early 14-0 lead with a 14-yard touchdown pass from Anthony Chiccitt to Noah Robinson and a three-yard run by D.J. Moyer after a Mercyhurst thrown interception. Chiccitt extended the lead to 21-0 with another touchdown pass to Chaz Middleton before the Lakers closed the gap to 21-14 with touchdowns by
Cameron Barmore and
Ayron Rodriguez. Chiccitt then threw two more touchdown passes, including a 63-yarder to Robinson and a 17-yarder to Trenell Ridgley, giving RMU a 34-14 halftime lead.

In the third quarter, Earnest Davis' one-yard run brought Mercyhurst within striking distance: 34-21, but Chiccitt responded with a two-yard pass to Ethan Shine. RMU sealed the win in the fourth quarter with a four-yard run by Tyvon Edmonds and a 14-yard touchdown pass from Zach Tanner to Trevor Wilson.

Scouting The Bobcats
Montana State's last game was on Saturday, September 7
th when they took down the Maine Bears 41-24. The Bobcats, now 3-0 on the season, are looking to carry their momentum into their game against the Lakers. The Bobcats took control early by scoring three touchdowns on just six plays to open the first quarter while racing to a 21-0 lead. The Bobcats had many key contributors in last week's game. Humphrey started it all with a 79-yard run. It was quickly followed up by an Adam Jones' 40-yard touchdown, and a Ryan Lonergan conversion. Humphrey added another score with a 6-yard run, and Jones tallied a second touchdown with a 19-yard dash.

The Bobcats amassed 344 rushing yards and 526 total yards last week, with Mellott contributing 66 rushing yards and 144 passing yards. Jared White added 99 rushing yards.

On the defensive side, The Bobcats controlled the game. Led by sacks from Hunter Parson and Brody Grebe and an interception by Jackson Harmon.
