ERIE, PA - The Mercyhurst Football team is proud to announce nine student-athletes have been selected to the 2026 Phil Steele Preseason All-NEC Team.
Wide Receiver
Dylan Evans and Offensive Linemen
Blake Hoegler and
Sawyer Prementine have been named to the First Team, showcasing their pivotal roles in Mercyhurst's offensive lineup. Evans, who recorded 43 receptions for 571 yards and three touchdowns last season, he was also placed on the 2026 All-NEC Football preseason first team. Hoegler and Prementine anchored the offensive line, contributing to a total of 1,718 rushing yards for the team.
On the Second Team, Wide Receiver
Evan Van Dyke and Offensive Linemen
Samuel Petros were recognized for their contributions. Van Dyke caught 41 passes for 395 yards and three touchdowns, while Petros provided critical protection that facilitated the team's offensive efforts.
On the defensive side, Linebackers
Jeff Leavell and
Jake Miller were honored with First Team selections. Leavell led the defense with 80 tackles and added an interception, while Miller recorded 62 tackles and two forced fumbles. Leavell was also honored by the NEC being selected to the preseason all-conference first team. Linebacker
Jaiden Allos who is coming off a strong freshman campaign was selected to the second team, he totaled 29 tackles to go along with three pass breakups and a sack in 2025. Defensive Lineman
Ramon McAndrews was also named to the Second Team, contributing with 10 tackles.Â
This marks a significant achievement for Mercyhurst Football, with a total of nine players earning spots on the Phil Steele Preseason All NEC Team, compared to four selections in the previous season. These honors reflect the team's competitive edge and the players' exceptional performances, setting a strong foundation for the upcoming season.
