Box Score Erie, Pa.- The Lakers finally returned home for their first ever Division I home game against Morehead State. The teams played to a 2-2 draw as the Lakers offense saw a breakthrough.
How it Happened
Mercyhurst returned to Saxon Stadium and saw some success early on. The Lakers had the edge in shots in the first half 10-6, but ultimately it was Morehead State who put the first point on the board. Freshman Carlie Thurmond got one past Graduate Student
Chelsea Radicia, but the Lakers took just seven seconds to even things up. Graduate Student
Emily Mijares grabbed her first goal of the 2024 season with an assist from Freshman
Annabella Stoehr.
In the second half, Morehead State had the edge in shots 13-4, but it was Graduate Student
Chloe Kalina who cashed in for the Lakers to give them a 2-1 lead in the 55
th minute. 12 minutes later Freshman Ava Peck knotted things up for the Eagles. That score stood as the final as neither team could convert on the offensive end in the final 23 minutes of action.

The Lakers made some history with their first draw in Division.
Chelsea Radicia made five saves and helped fend off Morehead State's attack that featured 19 total shots. Mercyhurst also saw the offense gain some traction with huge goals from Mijares and Kalina. They'll look to carry that momentum forward and snag their first Division I win this Thursday.
