ERIE, Pa. — Mercyhurst (2-10-0) lost to New Haven (2-8-1) with a final score of 1-0 on Sunday. The Lakers finished with a 14-12 shot edge and put seven attempts on goal but were held scoreless. It was Mercyhurst's Senior Day, celebrating seniors

The Lakers put the first shot on goal at 4:53, when
Tara Kerr's bottom-left try was saved, and New Haven began its first sustained push with shots at 16:50 and 18:54 around
Jenna Popowski's saved chance at 17:55. New Haven earned a corner at 21:13, the Lakers answered with
Sadie Lewis' saved shot at 23:11, and New Haven added another attempt before a corner at 26:06 with the match still 0-0. After New Haven forced an
Alyssa Alcorn save at 35:13, the Lakers responded with Popowski shots saved at 35:59 and 39:41 and a corner. Cappiello was shown a red card at 40:49, and the first half ended 0-0 after three late New Haven fouls.
New Haven created the first second-half chances with a corner and two shots saved by Alcorn, before the Lakers pushed back with a Lewis shot on goal, a corner and another Lewis attempt in the 59th minute. New Haven went ahead at 63:52 with a goal, and Kerr had the Lakers' next look at 65:52 with a shot that went out top. New Haven generated another spell of pressure with two corners and three shots between 72:30 and 74:59, while the half also tightened with several fouls and a yellow card to Lewis in the later stages. The Lakers made a late push with shots from Cowburn,
Avery Ruffus, Bullock and
Camryn Klein, plus a corner at 84:27, but the New Haven goalkeeper saved Ruffus' 86:44 attempt as New Haven finished off the 1-0 result.
Alcorn made four saves over 90 minutes in goal. Popowski put all three of her shots on goal to lead the Lakers. Lewis added three shots, including two on goal.
