Loretto, PA- Mercyhurst Field Hockey has another packed weekend as they prepare to face NEC opponent Saint Francis University twice. The Lakers face them for the first time away on Friday, September 13th at 4:00 PM and then play them again at home on Sunday, September 15th at 10:00 AM.

Laker Outlook 

Mercyhurst is coming off a full weekend of play as they faced Sacred Heart last Friday and Villanova on Monday. The Lakers put up a hard fight against Sacred Heart, holding them scoreless until the last minute of the game but ultimately fell to them by a score of 0-1. Villanova proved a tough matchup for Mercyhurst as they could not hold on and fell to the Wildcats by a score of 0-9. After this weekend of play, Mercyhurst has an overall record of 0-3 and is 0-2 in the conference. Although having a tough start, the Lakers have laser focus coming into this weekend of play and are eager to get their first win of the season. 

Scouting Saint Francis

Saint Francis has an overall record of 2-2 and has yet to play an NEC opponent. They beat Ball State on August 30th in double overtime by a score of 3-2 and just recently beat Georgetown on September 8th by a score of 1-0. They lost to Miami University on September 1st by a score of 0-5 and were beaten by Towson University by a score of 1-5 on September 6th.
