East Stroudsburg, Pa. - The Mercyhurst Women's Lacrosse team traveled to East Stroudsburg for a non-conference matchup. The Warriors got out to an early lead and never looked back in a 19-6 win over the Lakers.
How it Happened
Emma Cimino opened the game's scoring with a goal, giving the Lakers a 1-0 lead. After the Warriors took a 2-1 lead, Emma Cimino found the back of the net for the second time, tying the game. The Warriors scored five more times in the first quarter, taking a commanding lead heading into the second quarter.
The Lakers were held scoreless in the second quarter, while the Warriors continued to extend their lead. After two quarters of play, the Warriors led 15-2.
Emma Cimino scored her third goal of the game early in the third quarter. Marlee Antinora added a goal later in the quarter as well for the Lakers.
Emma Cimino scored her fourth goal of the game in the fourth quarter, and Alex Finocchario added one more for the Lakers late in the fourth quarter. The Lakers attempted to climb back into the game, but the deficit was too large to overcome.
