Field Hockey Concludes Season in Massachusetts

North Andover, MA- Mercyhurst Field Hockey played their final game of the season today. They fell to NEC opponent Merrimack College by a score of 2-0. 

How it Happened 

The first quarter brought little action for both teams, as Mercyhurst held Merrimack scoreless and had one save, making the score 0-0 going into the second. Merrimack took the lead in the second quarter, scoring two goals and making the score 2-0 going into the half. The Lakers took two shots in the third quarter, but Merrimack denied them. Mercyhurst held the Warriors scoreless again in the third, keeping the score 2-0. The Lakers had one shot in the final quarter, but could not convert it to a goal. They continued to hold Merrimack scoreless in the fourth quarter. Despite a tough defensive effort, the Lakers ultimately fell to the Warriors by a score of 2-0. Junior Maddie Huffer had two shots, one being a shot on goal, and sophomore Rachel Kosowski had one shot. Senior goalkeeper Kayla Desormeau had one save.
