Game one saw a tightly contested 3-2 victory, with Hurstesports eking out a win in the final moments. But it was in game two that Hurstesports Rocket League truly found their rhythm. Despite having played together only a handful of times, their synergy was on full display as they executed precise passes and fearless offensive plays, culminating in a jaw-dropping 7-1 win. Though game three slipped away in a tight overtime loss, Hurstesports refused to let that halt their momentum. Game four saw them grind out a gritty 2-1 win, and the final game of the series ended 3-2, giving them a well-deserved 4-1 victory overall. As the final match of week one for the Hurstesports program, their victory secured a clean sweep for the entire program, with every team claiming a win. The buzz around campus was undeniable—Hurstesports had arrived.
Week two brought a new challenge in Assumption University, a series that was anticipated to be close from start to finish. But Hurstesports, riding high on their week one success, powered through with another 4-1 victory. Games three and four were especially tense, each ending in 1-0 wins for Hurstesports. Despite the razor-thin margins, the team's determination shone through, reminding everyone that it's not the scoreline that matters—only the final result. With another series win under their belts, Hurstesports Rocket League kept their undefeated streak alive.
Week three proved to be their toughest test yet, facing off against a formidable SUNY Fredonia team. From the very first game, the series was a battle of wills. Hurstesports claimed game one with a 3-1 win, but SUNY Fredonia came back swinging in game two, handing Hurstesports a 2-0 loss. The back-and-forth nature of the series continued, with Hurstesports taking game three in a commanding 4-0 win, only to see SUNY Fredonia respond in kind with a 3-1 victory in game four. Tied 2-2, the tension reached a fever pitch.
Game five was nothing short of a heart-stopper. A 3-3 scoreline pushed the game into a sudden-death overtime, where every second felt like an eternity. But with their flawless record on the line, Hurstesports dug deep. It was a grueling contest, but they emerged victorious, claiming the crucial 3-2 win and putting them one game away from sealing the series.
Game six was even more intense. With the series on the line and everything to play for, both teams threw everything they had into the match. Once again, the game was forced into overtime with a 2-2 tie. As the seconds dragged on, every hit of the ball was a potential game-winner. The defining moment came when Timothy "Rockerbim" Weisensel made a clutch play, challenging SUNY Fredonia at midfield and sending the ball soaring into the air. Gomer shot up after it, knowing this could be the series defining moment. At the same time, Bagz executed a game-changing demolition, clearing out the opposing defense and leaving the net wide open for Gomer to finish it. The team erupted as the ball found the back of the net—Hurstesports had done it again. A 4-2 series win, another week of perfection.
Now, with week four looming, the question on everyone's mind is simple: Can Hurstesports Rocket League keep this unbeaten streak alive? They currently sit at the top of the league, with Huntingdon College and SUNY Fredonia chasing them down. But with the heart, resilience, and raw skill they've displayed so far, it's hard to see anyone stopping them anytime soon.
