Schenectady, N.Y. – The Mercyhurst Lakers Men's Ice Hockey team fought hard but ultimately fell 3-2 to Union in a non-conference game on Saturday evening. The Lakers tied the game twice, but Union's third-period goal proved to be the game-winner as Mercyhurst dropped to 1-5-0 on the season.
How It Happened:
Mercyhurst opened the scoring midway through the first period when Riley Fitzgerald netted a power-play goal at 12:29, assisted by Brendan Lamb and Boris Skalos, giving the Lakers a 1-0 lead. However, Union quickly responded with a power-play goal of their own from Drew Sutton at 19:13 to tie the game at 1-1 heading into the first intermission.

Mercyhurst quickly answered as Tyler DesRochers tied the game at 2-2 at 9:07, assisted by Brendan Lamb and Mickey Burns.
