Erie, Pa. - The Mercyhurst Men's Soccer team looked to stay unbeaten as they welcomed in West Chester. The Lakers were able to stay perfect as they beat West Chester 3-1.
How it Happened
A goal by Jorge Tallada Torres broke the scoreless tie midway through the first half. Andreas Rossak found Tallada Torres who put it in the back of the net. The Lakers weren't able to get much else going in the first half, but they took a 1-0 lead into halftime.
The beginning of the second half was slow for both sides. The first shot for either team was in the 75th minute as Lockie Fay put a shot wide of the net. A few minutes later the Lakers broke through to take a 2-0 lead. Ignacio Gallego scored his first goal of the season as Andreas Rossak found him for his second assist of the game. In the 86th minute the Lakers were awarded a penalty kick. Dylan Sumner stepped up and buried it. The lead was extended to 3-0. The Lakers were looking to pitch another shutout, but West Chester was able to get on the board with just three minutes left to play. The final seconds ticked off the clock and the Lakers would win 3-1.

Jorge Tallada Torres scored his third goal of the season, and his third goal in the last two games. Ignacio Gallego scored his first goal of the season. Dylan Sumner scored his second goal of the season. Andreas Rossak finished the game with two assists.
