Turning the Tide
After winning each of the first two games by a combined score of 21-0, Mercyhurst has dropped each of their last four games and hope to get back in the win column this week. The Lakers have been the victim of slow starts in each of their losses as their opponent has scored first in each. They'll look to be the aggressors against the Golden Bears to help set the tone.
Laker Leaders
Jenna Cavalieri currently leads the team in goals with six while Ellie Schau comes in right behind with five. Freshman Rachel Kosowski and Lexi Odrobina round out the top three as they both have three scores on the year. Cavalieri has been more than just a scorer as she also has three assists on the year to be tied for the team-lead alongside Delfina Magro and Samantha Mayers. In the cage, Kayla Desormeau has been solid once again as she has accumulated 35 saves while allowing 16 goals, recording a 68.6% save percentage.
Scouting Kutztown
The Golden Bears are 5-0 to this point in the season after defeating Mercy 5-0 this past Thursday, September 14th. The team's defense has been one of the better ones in the country as they have yet to allow a goal all season, outscoring opponents 21-0. Team team's leading scorer is Breann Carley with five goals while Erin Gonzalez has three and four players tied with two to round out the top three. Craley has added two assists to her line as well to help her lead the team in points with 12, making her someone the Lakers will look to key in on.
